Bad bad day

Today is my graduation. But I didn’t get all those happy pictures yet. Instead I got one super bad news.

My degree got problem. Well you see, I have a laminated SPM certificate, which in the eye of the Russian Federation is considered an inauthentic document as the certification on that document is impossible. Despite all the papers and letters attached, the Russian Federation still considered my SPM cert to be inauthentic.

It also means that all these time, my legalization process for my secondary school result did not happened. I graduated, yet there is no authorization and proof saying that I finished my secondary school. Funny right?

And because of this, I could not get the translation and certification of my degree done as I did not receive the full transcripts of my degree. I didn’t receive it BECAUSE the university is not giving them to me.

And in order to make the university to give me my transcripts, I’ll need to go back to Malaysia, issue another brand new NOT LAMINATED SPM certificate, and send it over to Russia, redo the legalization and the whole process would take up 3 months. THREE MONTHS!

I’m still in a state of blunggggggg when I’m writing this.

Yes I know I prayed for a long holiday, I think it happened (since when the things I prayed for started happening so fast?) and I guess now I get a nice one. Easily end up unemployed for 6 months I think.

I don’t know.

Am I sad? I don’t know.

The idea of all the trouble and not being able to start work together like the normal flow makes me kinda pissed.

2ndly. I don’t know. 3 months is like a long wait. I know you might said that I speculated 3 months of holidays. But this 3 months start from the day the UNIVERSITY send my document to Moscow for the whole legalization process. That would be almost certainly a month from now. Add another 3 months of wait, equals 4 months. And I gotta do the translation, come back, apply for a job, wait for interview, and it would easily end up like 6-8 months before I really start working.

Shit.

Deep shit.

I’m still speechless. Let’s see what options the dean is giving us on Monday.

is that only happen to you? or happened to all those who laminate the SPM?
Mine is laminated, and legalization is complete.
I think you should consult with the international department again.
      3 months is a long long time….
      Be a part-time photographer then. :)
      cheer up~~!!

    4. kiwi-bird Says:

Wah.. why so ridiculous??? Why dun they tell u earlier or wat?? Sorry to hear that.. But I dun think it need another 3 months for legalization, no?

    5. gizmo_pony Says:

ben aku pun laminate gak, tapi last winter aku pergi moscow, then embassy issue letter approved sijil spm yang laminate tuh, goodluck

szetoo, my mum laminate one. i tak tau. I think in other countries people usually do not stamp on this cert, they issue paper saying that this cert is authentic and that’s it. Russia is more peculiar with papers.

kiwi, they told earlier, did all they wanted, and now this problem.. trying to by pass it on monday. see how. yea.. 3 months, because the process is, get the SPM cert to Russia, get it translated into Russian, send it back to Foreign affair in Malaysia to stamp, send to Russian embassy in Malaysia to stamp, send back to Moscow for process, then only send to Uni. is like flying across the globe. so need 3 months.

gizmo_pony, I did the exact same thing u said. better go back and issue the SPM cert and re-run the whole legalization again. Because there are so many people, they will not really remember whether your one pass the whole process or not. To be on the safe side and not stone like me now, better go and issue another paper in Msia, tell them u lost your SPM or what..

    7. Johnny Says:

when all ur happy photo will up??

    8. peanut Says:

didn’t get them all yet… gotta wait few days more…

    9. nila Says:

even mine laminated(and yes,by mum) …but Ministy of Foreign Affairs Malaysia certified ours(laminated and non-laminated) with attached photocopied version with the cop.
that took like one month for them in msia to process

i hope u’ll get a solution there soon. Just dun give up hope k.
      Be positive
      =)

thanks nila, i think that’s the thing i gotta do.. sigh.. see.. another 1 month.. will try to talk to the dean tomorrow and see what can he do to speed up this whole thing or by pass it. the woman in charge told us that it is actually not important for us as our papers are processed but it is actually some kind of criteria that the uni need to have in order to issue us the cert.
