The Story of my 47th tooth

First of all, let me introduce you all to this fella, if you don’t know why it is 47th tooth, let me explain. Human only got 32 teeth, how come I’m suffering on my 47th?

Think this way. All tooth are named with 2 numbers. First number is the quadrant number, the second number is the position. Your right upper quadrant (from the mid-line onwards and towards your right molar back there) is named ‘1′. Upper left as ‘2′, lower left is ‘3′ and and lower right is ‘4′. So the 47th tooth is at the lower right quadrant, 7th tooth from the mid-line. Got it?

Easier to say, it is my right lower jaw 2nd Molar. But got number, call number more gempak/ yeng/ bergaya.

This tooth was long being filled up by some metallic black almagam filling. Last month, it was giving me some problem, pain while eating, cold and hot and during pressure. There is this big caries there (because there is a big gap between it and my horizontally impacted wisdom tooth), I went to the dentist and got it checked.

I was handled by in intern. I don’t really mind that he is an intern. I myself am a medical student so I know you need somebody to be your first and to try your hands on doing something before becoming somebody great. I’m not his first patient anyway. He had been working for some 7 months now I guess.

He drilled and drilled and filled it with white paste. It lasted well for a week or so. But later on, the pain kicked in, not so painful at first but slowly gaining momentum. I couldn’t take it anymore so I went to him, who is busy, and handle me over to the pretty dentist that I blogged few days before.

She tried to start drilling. But I couldn’t take the pain, so she injected me with anaesthesia! And later on, managed to clear out the surface before I started signaling her that I’m pain again. Can’t really bear with it. Damn painful!

She sent me home as there is no long needle for better anaesthesia. I went home, waited 2 days until she is free again to do my tooth.

I went back today afternoon, did another time of anaesthesia, and the moment she drilled, it was painful again!

-_-”

I tried not to shout but it was too painful to even be patient with it.

She decided to do root canal treatment for me. First putting something in my tooth to make the nerve dies.

I came home, consulted 2 of my dentists friend. One like to scares me until I doubt what my dentist did. Another one is more positive and I gained some confidence. According to one of them, this whole treatment is going to take few visits and will be quite expensive if done in Malaysia. KL price for 1000 ringgit!

I think so far I’m lucky for paying nothing at all. Hehehe. Will update later about this 47th. Hopefully it is not going to be too painful and the killing of the root is going to be successful. I don’t want the dentist trying to drill it just to make me feel pain again!

Horizontal Impaction

Posted by peanut on Monday Apr 13, 2009 Under bad stuffs

Yea, that’s exactly what I have after looking at the XRay of my own tooth. A real horizontal impaction of the wisdom tooth on my right jaw, pushing the one in front of it into a slight slant. Damn, it is not really that pain now as I’m trying to chew on the left but it is still kinda aching all the time now. Not pain, but ache.

I had always wanted to remove it but when I went to the dentist, they would prefer to treat some other tooth first instead of referring me to the surgeon straight away. Now that it is causing problem (as they can’t tell whether it is my 2nd molar which is causing the pain or it is that impaction), I got myself an appointment with the surgeon.

Here is a picture to give you the idea of a horizontal impaction. (Picture taken from http://sundds.files.wordpress.com)

Hopefully I could get my 3rd Molar extracted as soon as possible to stop all these pain. It is not doing good as I’m feeling tired all the time and no mood at all to stare into the book. I don’t even have mood to eat or do anything, would just lie on the bed doing nothing. 2 days passed and I hope this problem got solved asap.

Dentist again!

Posted by peanut on Friday Apr 10, 2009 Under as a med student, bad stuffs

Some where around the right back side of my jaw is giving me some problem. Pain while chewing. Pain while biting. Pain even while not moving or doing anything.

I called my dentist Sergei and he was busy with some other thing at another place. He told his colleague to take over my case.

And….

Lenglui dentist!

LOL, I didn’t took picture of her of course. But I kinda melted in the chair enjoying our moments together. Sorry for being too exaggerating. Well, melted case kinda make the whole process less painful right?

Anyway, she didn’t get to drill on my tooth because she suspected that the 3rd molar is pressing on the 2nd one. Pretty and smart, hmm, good! (Even I know it is a possibility lah!).

Then she sent me to XRay my tooth.

Photobucket

Can’t see anything right? Too bad, camera not clear.

Conclusion, I gotta skip the morning class on Monday to go consult the Surgeon and see what to do later.

Since I have much time left, I told her to look at my 42th tooth as it was a bit sensitive nowadays. She checked and said that most probably the gum is kinda sensitive. She sent me home with some recommendations AND a promise to call me tomorrow to find out how I am doing. LOL. *wicked smile*

Talking about the joy of not being a caries -_-’

I would want to get rid of my wisdom tooth/teeth once and for all. Hopefully they can do it with IV Ketamin. Hahahahaha..

what the …..

Posted by peanut on Tuesday Jan 13, 2009 Under as a med student, bad stuffs, characters, medical stuffs

Regarding to the previous post when my ‘friend’ who photocopied my work and passed up as his, today, I found out that he is not the only one doing that. I saw the ‘my’ paper being used as ‘their’ work for at least 5 of them!

I decided to confront him by ’signaling’ to him that how come my paper is with the other group of people (I have no doubts my work will later be sold in ‘black market’ for the coming years for their juniors and so on, yea, they are THAT useless to do their own homework). He had a look at them, and gave a ‘troubled’ face (as in showing me he didn’t know how did that happen) and continued talking and playing around like kids. He is so ‘obviously’ do not care about what happens next as long as his work is done and he is safe to get the sign tomorrow for the exam.

No I didn’t talk to him and didn’t express my anger too much.

No I didn’t curse him aloud (only inside my heart, which kinda pollute my cute and kind cardiac muscles).

No I didn’t took a knife and stab him (even thou my brain ran over the scenario few times and think how the forensic experts are going to catch me if I do that).

Yes I proceeded to think what is the perfect way to kill somebody.

Yes I ended up thinking that it is IMPOSSIBLE. Sooner or later people will know about it.

Luckily this is only homework, and not something which I would want to protect with my life.

BUT

He is so going to suffer for every single chance that I have in the future. DAMN IT!

And now I should pray for the strictest teachers my uni can offer to be our teacher in the coming sem. Even thou I’m going to suffer, I’ll be happy to see him suffering more than me.

Yea, I’m those kind of people who are happy to see him suffer.

I’m THAT EVIL!

Okay, enough for the hate. I’ll keep that to myself and update you all about what I do to him after on. Mean while, let’s have some snowy great weather picture to sooth the day.

Near the river bank.

See that Lenin’s face on top of that building?

It is a sunny day!

p/s - my housemates are still in Opthalmology exam. Hopefully they don’t get mentally molested by their teacher.

I’ll get to you

Posted by peanut on Monday Jan 12, 2009 Under as a med student, bad stuffs, characters

My ‘friend’ aka. classmate aka. the one that i hate and like to play prank to, came over to my house to look at my homework to see how to write the post-mortem report. I, for being holy and helpful and all the good qualities in the world, decided to let him copy my word file, thinking that he would produce something by his own since he has the time to do that.

And the next thing I know.

He passed up exactly the same thing that I did!

WTF!!!!!!

#$%%$^$&^%$@#$

No I didn’t confront him. If I do it, he will say something like, he added a word, and I can still investigate on and will found out that there are no exceptions, and then he noticed that I found out that he lied, then he will say he did the covering page and changed the name, and look at me with his shitty face and smile, and I’ll be damn piss. He even printed out the cover with my name on it, and after realizing it, he gotta take it out and thus the reason why he need to do his own first page. ARGH.

People do not change.

Some people are really hopeless.

WASTE OF MY TIME. BUT NOW I’M BLOGGING IT BECAUSE I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE.

See? I was correct to just leave him on the tram when I know it was going to the wrong place.

And from now on, I’ll enjoy every moment of torturing him. I’ll not cover for him anymore (not that I did, but I kept my mouth shut).

Yay, today onwards, see the destructive power of Peanut.

Anyway, I just need to mention that he is working part time and the school will kick him home to where he came from.

See, I would still NEED to sympathize him for not giving him the worst lessons ever. I think I’ll start next semester, revealing all his stupid lies (stupid because he doesn’t know how to lie, no technique at all).

Smart people are cunning people.

I shall revenge!

Good hands

Posted by peanut on Saturday Jan 10, 2009 Under bad stuffs, blogin

Sometimes, the solution for very complicated things can be very simple! One of the example is computer viruses. I got this kamsoft.exe not long ago that practically jam the whole computer. I went into safe mode, on my trojan guarder and a small window popped up saying “to kill kamsoft.exe press yes”, what else, that’s all, problem solved!

Similar event happened today, or just now. I was happily using the com when suddenly, SUDDENLY, everything went dark. Black. Silent. Sigh. What a turn-off. This is not the first time.

Photobucket

Even the street is brighter than my room.

Photobucket

Cold without heater..

I opened up the small box with the meter in the corridor of my house. Well, I didn’t see any fire coming out of it, which is very good (because the last time something like this happened we actually had one of the wire on fire, cool not?!!)

I tried to pull some of the switches there, there are only 3 of them. Haha. Just kinda like off and on you know, but nothing happened.

Next step was to call the owner and he said he would be here in one and a half hour. He wasn’t in town. Great! Now I have 1 and a half hour without electricity.

One and a half hour turned out to be nearly 3 hours.

(Mean time we watched TOP CHEF and a movie on Claire’s laptop, when the battery went out, we proceeded with digging skeletons from her love life).

I was staring out the window when I saw the owner coming. He came in, shook my hand (probably sucking all my power at one go during that split seconds), walk to the metal box, pull the switches here and there (those that I already pulled more than once, more like 5 or 6 times) and walaaaaa, civilization!!!!!

Sometimes, what it takes is a pair of good hands.

Too bad mine are made in Msia. The Russian technology need Russian hands maybe.

So, it does matter when you are in good hands!

Ulcer power

Posted by peanut on Saturday Dec 13, 2008 Under bad stuffs, blogin

No. Let’s not go to that first. Today’s dissection class is dreadful. No cadaver and just theory. Basically it is a class to teach us how to write death certificate and a bit about how to save our ass when we put the wrong diagnosis. Obviously I think the way Russia do things is different from my own country so I was just giving the class the amount of attention like how I watch tv. Because besides that, I have a bigger problem to deal with, my oral ulcer!

Yea, again! Garghhh!

Even thou this is the first time since I got back here. Luckily I cooked some soup based dinner yesterday. Chewing is painful and almost impossible. Actually, I can’t close my mouth (upper jaw to lower jaw) completely because the slight regional oedema and ulcer at the very strategic spot stopped me from doing so.

Since the problem had started to cause mood changes and everything, I decided to come up with some solutions:

  1. Drink more green tea - not for the antioxidants, but more for the bacteriostatic effect.
  2. Angmo herbal tea! (you know what it is)
  3. Pondering with the thought of blending my rice for dinner. Wonder how will it be *Grin* If this happened, I’ll blog about it.
  4. Blending every single thing that I need to eat so that I can drink them.
  5. Porridge. Sigh

It is a bad season to have ulcer because winter makes you hungry. And I actually wanna eat a lot of stuffs and junk food but this stupid ulcer is stoping me. Gargh!

Garghh! II

Posted by peanut on Tuesday Dec 2, 2008 Under bad stuffs

Allow me to quote Malaysia’s famous political blogger.

Niamah!

Today I went to grandma to let her sign my zachet. As usual, she took her sweet time checking out lecture attendence and etc. It happened that we only missed our lecture on our medical check up day. I tried to explain to her that the it is allowed according to the uni’s regulation that we were given the day to miss the classes and lectures during out medical checkup day. It is almost impossible for all of us to be there as the process was pretty long. She refused to sign for 4 of us and required us to show her the lecture notes. This is the first time in 7 years that a teacher got so ‘ngiau’ and hard to please when comes to this kind of small things. She kept on accusing us for trying to cheat her. Duh! I decided not to argue with her as obviously she has hearing problem and is more stubborn than a rock.

She said that she wouldn’t be around until 15th of December. And at the same time I wouldn’t have class at this far away hospital, so it means that I gotta travel all the way just to get the signs from her when I finished my semester. Purposely. Duh! I don’t like to do this kind of things!

I made up my mind, if she gives me more trouble, I’m going to the Head of Department! Garghh! Anyway, need to copy lectures to ‘pay’ her back. Sigh.

At the same time, the tap in the kitchen is giving problem. Will gotta buy a new one and fix it but I guess that will need to wait until tomorrow, or at least until when I can get through my house owner’s handphone. Troublesome day! Frustrated.

Argh! So bad!

Posted by peanut on Monday Dec 1, 2008 Under bad stuffs, blogin

The host changed its server and my posts are affected! If not mistaken, 3 posts and my changes in the ‘about me’ pages are gone. Now I have to write them again! Give that page a visit if you happen to be here and free. Kinda sad that 3 of the posts are missing. I think some of them are pretty good plus you all had wrote such long comments for me. Sigh!

….. *speechless*…..

Hopefully my friend have some solution about it. Even thou 4 days of posts is not a big deal but it still felt kinda wasted. Besides that, the low temperature today formed ice on the surface of the road, making it so difficult to walk. I took some 30minutes to walk 100 meters! Basically need to balance myself, half slide and half walk all the way, climb up the slippery stairs. I hope tomorrow is not like tat, because falling down and roll all over along the rode towards the hospital seems way easier than walking!

Bad day! Argh!

2 pictures that I attached in the lost posts are here to pay respect for the disappeared posts. LOL.

Photobucket

Seriously, the coming months will be looking either like this, or..

Photobucket

the best like this. I don’t mind winter but please don’t make me fall.
