Goodbye 2010

Posted by peanut on Friday Dec 31, 2010 Under as a HO, blogin

The very typical post of most bloggers, and I’m do it as well. It is cool to read back some posts and see what had I achieved this year. Let’s see.

1. I think this year I didn’t blogged much.
It is a total of less than 100 posts this year. The main reason is of course - work. So it is a down trend for my blogging life. And to think that blogging is like writing a diary and I don’t even have much mood to write things down, you can expect the same thing with my social life. LOL.

2. It is a up trend for my number of friends.
A lot of hi-byes when I work longer and longer in the hospital. Familiar faces increase by numbers everyday. It is not something bad actually. I have more friends compared to when I just started working. So this should be considered a kudo to me.

3. Chilling out -up going trend.
Very good towards the end of the year. Having out much more often with human being but it also means hanging out less with the books, since spending time on patients can’t be discounted!

4. Family wise.
I should say it is good. Brother settling down with his work. Another one scored well in exams. Parents healthy. Hope health wise maintain like this until 40 years later. Buddha bless.

5. Religion wise.
I do remember. I’ll not say that I remember less. But I’m trying to hold on to more. Life rocks.

6. Love life wise.
Clear as water. LOL.

7. Financial wise.
Boom. I’m very happy considered that I achieved something which I never thought I could. That is indeed my pride. This kind of things can’t be mention online right?

8. Gadgets wise.
Not enough space on table to put. Maybe buying another table? LOL.

9. Health wise.
Trying to get rid of my wisdom tooth. Sigh. Fear of dentist is implanted in the brain like microchip. Otherwise, back pain occasionally for all the bending downs during writing and sole pain for all the walking. Not plantar facitis thou.

10. Work wise.
Changing new department. So it is a whole dumb ass growing up story again. But hopefully things turn well. I do have some idea about what I want to do or what I would prefer to do but like I always say, sometimes we try with our luck, and the government determines the rest. I hope I wouldn’t end up in some ulu KK or what few months down the road, so I’m really gonna cherish my housemanship life now. Rocking with babies next posting. Very geram if they don’t cry. LOL. But I wouldn’t know if i can handle the ’symphony’.

11. Traveling wise.
Only manage to go to Vietnam and some of the other local attractions this year. Well. I don’t mind. Some how the back packing idea is totally out of my mind and I can’t believe what I did when I was touring europe in Russia. Walking around in backpack in another place feels very foreign to me. Maybe because I hate walking so much during work that I hate walking totally. Or maybe all I need is a new pair of nice walking shoes.

My world-dominating plan.

Next year would be a year of staying cool (is it even possible?). Things that would definitely happen is me changing from a HO to a MO. Well. Hope that works out smoothly. Other wise, no any bombastic traveling plans, no gigantic money consuming dreams that I need to achieve for the time being except that changing a car (depends on the automobile market it is).

And very importantly, to stay safe, and patient, and alert.

The word that I would need the most for next year would be…

Patience.

And hopefully next year will be even a more bombastic year. So in summary, I’m happy with being me this year. Well done.

Dreams to reality

Posted by peanut on Saturday Dec 18, 2010 Under blogin

Today marks a significant day in my life. Just feel like writing this down so that years later, when I look back, I want a reality check.

My dream house.

I don’t need a big house. I’m not somebody who fancy high rise condominium with lotsa amenities, I don’t fancy penthouse too much (don’t mind having one thou) and I don’t fancy living in a big house but with only just a few people in it.

My dream house, would preferably situated near the beach. Not directly on the beach. But near. It can be maybe 5 minutes walk or something, but as long as it is considered near by any human being taking a walk from my house to the beach. I don’t mind if I can’t see the beach from my house.

My dream house don’t need to be big. BUT, I would want the piece of land where my house is on to be BIG. Preferably a football field or maybe two (a bit too much for me but if can, why not). And I’ll pay to grow those green green grass on that flat land. And right at one corner of it, I’ll build my humble small bungalow.

My humble small bungalow, will be one of not fancy design. Maybe a 1250 sq ft would be more than sufficient. 2 stories. Up and down. With a few rooms enough for my dad & mum, my brothers if they come and visit me, and that’s it.

My garage will be a close one, with an automatic door, enough for 2 cars and a bike. YES, the superbike is ON my list of ‘wants’, and YES I don’t care what other people say but it is going to be there. And it is going to be a Kawasaki Ninja 250cc. Can’t visualize the car I’ll want thou. And on top of the garage I’ll build my balcony and my room. Right outside of my room will be the 2nd living room.

And 1st living room will be relatively small. Enough to fit in 6 people and feel cozy. With a big tv, and nice couch. Color preference - anything would do. The living room will join with the dinning room in an open concept. And the kitchen near to it with the biggest fridge I can get before my parents say that I’m insane.

And I’ll build a room on the 1st floor for my parents. They might have some difficulty walking up and down everyday I guess. And their room will have big glass door, opening to a small veranda, giving them excess to the green field and their own private garden, with a small table and bench for them to chilllax.

On the 2nd floor beside my room I’ll have some extra rooms for my brothers or guests. And that shall be enough.

On my piece of land I’m gonna build tall fence around it, and I would walk bare foot on that grass around my house each day, breathing in that salted air, and looking at that stunning sunset. I would be kicking my dog around. Yes, a dog, and it is going to be a Siberian husky. Reason is anything Russian means something to me and husky is just my personal favorite. A dog would definitely be the last thing to get in this big dream.

And, that’s the dream.

I’m sick of people saying no to this and that. And I’m sick of people telling me I wouldn’t be doing this and that because of blablabla.

And for today, is a special day for me. This can be considered me achieving my 2nd step out of god knows how many, but these will be my steps towards my dreams. I’ll just need to stay on.

Batu Pahat Day Trip

Posted by peanut on Thursday Dec 16, 2010 Under blogin, travel

Eric suggested for this, to look for his old friend Dennis.

I stayed in their house during my UK trip few years back so this is not the first time I meet Dennis. And this is not the first time I go to Batu Pahat as well.

First thing on the itinerary when we reach there is the Segenting temple - to touch fish, which rumored to have help a lot of Singaporean kena TOTO.

Photobucket

And it is situated so near the sea that I have to take some poser pics.

Photobucket

Photobucket

That’s Eric.

Photobucket

The fish that we touched in order to win TOTO. But I guess not for me. Haha.

And later on went for this small kuey teow place for good food.

Photobucket

Later on top up with cendol and some special cakes before we head home.

Generally I still feel like buying TOTO and magnum. LOL.

Had this BBQ session with my colleagues few weeks back. It reminds me of BBQ-ing in Volgograd!

Photobucket

Because I saw familiar faces as well. Haha.

Photobucket

Ain is very hardworking and very serious about serving people food.

Photobucket

Just part of all who are present. These will be those food lovers who can’t get away from the food.

Photobucket

From evening till night.

Photobucket

Home sweet home again

Posted by peanut on Saturday Dec 11, 2010 Under blogin

There is definitely a need to go home. Especially after all the EOD calls, all the bugging issues in work, all the non-stop working time and most importantly, after all these while of becoming only a government servant instead of a mother’s child. Damn.

And when you are home, it is important that I don’t need to think of anything. I eat what which is put in front of me. And I go out when my parents plan to. A total peace of mind. Sometimes I don’t even need to drive.

But I guess I had been coming home too infrequent that my own bedroom feels weird to myself. Hard to nap in the room as well. New things that appear around house makes me feel like stranger. Can’t get use to the fact that dad has an ipad, mum has new com, bro has new small pad (or whatever it is). Everybody has a toy now. I felt like I’m the only one miserable with old toys and stuffs. Sigh.

Anyway, for the past week, I barely live. So many tiring calls and assessment as well. Damn it. I had to drink chicken essence twice a week in order to make myself function like a normal person, up to the extend that my soul and mind is tired but my eyes just can’t close. LOL.

I hate labour room.

Haha.

I hope the coming Christmas they wouldn’t make our calls too bad.

Eric is bad in town so it is always good to see old friend.

Hopefully your weekend is a good one as well! Cheers!

Outings

Posted by peanut on Wednesday Dec 8, 2010 Under blogin

Outings are rare nowadays. Busy with oncalls then postcalls and the cycle. I’m not complaining since the labor room provide food, 3 times a day, more than enough for me and it saves me A LOT of money.

Mind wonders

Posted by peanut on Tuesday Nov 16, 2010 Under blogin

It is a powerful thing.

Somethings thing that do not hurt you physically, will hurt you mentally, just because it is in your mind, and it replays itself on and on, like the broken old radio.

Somethings thing that doesn’t bring you joy anymore still can make you laugh, just because it is inside the mind, pop up suddenly reminding you of what had happened.

Living in the actual moment is actually hard, when your mind wonders, waste of time.

Kuantan Trip Day 2 Part 4

Posted by peanut on Thursday Nov 11, 2010 Under blogin, travel

Spent the night at Satay Zul. If you are using the google map beware that there are some mistaken location of Satay Zul.

Well, this place is well recommended by a lot of blogs. My verdict? Hmm. Acceptable. The peanut chilli is not spicy at all, maybe they are trying to cater to Chinese customers as majority of the people having dinner when I was there are Chinese. So weird.

Photobucket

Had too much Satays. Mum said Kajang satay is still the best.

The next day decided to go to yet another recommended place for breakfast. This time, it is the curry noodle.

First impression - soooo many people. We waited for some 10 minutes before we get a place at the BACK of the restaurant. Hmm..

Photobucket

The curry mee was so-so. Not spicy at all. And one thing is there are all kinds of people there, truely 1 Malaysia restaurant but I can’t see any halal sign hanging around. However, if you are there in Teluk Cempedak, I would recommend the tarts and that cookies from this shop just few shops down from Hoi Yin restaurant.

That concludes my Kuantan trip. Hope that I have more chance and time to visit other places instead :) Adios.

Kuantan Trip Day 2 Part 3

Posted by peanut on Wednesday Nov 10, 2010 Under blogin, travel

Went to Kemaman Kopitiam to try out their coffee after the tiring hill climb. I thought that Kemaman Kopitiam will be like Kluang station kopitiam, having a lot of branches scattered all over Kuantan but my GPS found only one shop. The corner shop not far away from Beserah Road.

The menu is good.

Photobucket

We quickly placed our order.

Photobucket

Nasi Lemak.

Photobucket

Nasi Goreng.

Photobucket

The garlic bread and tidbits left over which you can’t see.

The food is good. But expensive! Our breakfast for 4 turned out to be around RM50 (I think so far all our meals cost around the same amount). The nasi lemak was okay but I would prefer the T&L restaurant one, with better sambal. Otherwise the food is nice, just a bit expensive on the scale. Well, tourist spot I guess. The coffee is still worth while to try but nothing much to wow about.

If somebody is in Kuantan and got no idea what to eat, I’ll still recommend this place, that is if they don’t mind the garlic bread costing more than RM5.

Photobucket

Need a small walk on the beach to help digest the food!

Kuantan Trip Day 2 Part 2

Posted by peanut on Sunday Nov 7, 2010 Under blogin, travel

A better introduction on Sungai Lembing town. Well, not those information that you can get from wiki, just my own 2 cents, or 20 cents.

Photobucket

Had a better look at the town when it was brighter. Even thou the weather wasn’t really all that great but it was bright enough to look at where I really parked my car (I thought was beside some haunted house). The town is seriously small. The kindergarten and the primary school is at the foot of Bukit Panorama. I joked with my bro that the people here can grow old going to the same school from kid until they are f.5, all around the radius of 500m. That’s sad. But we didn’t see any secondary school thou. Maybe (hopefully) it is situated some distance away from where we went. The library is just opposite the primary school. How convenient.

Photobucket

The big big tree, protecting the small town.

Photobucket

The town’s petrol station!! Well if a car is there filling up, it practically blocks the whole road! Not a good idea.

Photobucket

And noted that there are lotsa Hakka people around. Even some of the malay aunties know how to speak Hakka! I heard one of them saying ‘it is raining’ in Hakka when I passed by. Damn funny.

The town really gives u the peaceful feeling. It was around 8am when I came down from the hill. Didn’t manage to stay around long because my bro and I was pretty hungry that time and the pasar is PACKED with people (most probably tourists) having their breakfast after the climb.

I didn’t visit the museum and the hanging bridge (a thing that I totally forgot). Damn. Will be back some day later I guess since I didn’t really get the picture of sunrise and there are 2 things tat I didn’t do. Sg. Lembing will still be a point of my destination if I ever go Pahang/Kuantan again.
