Recently I sat in a talk/CME organized by the hospital.

The case presentation was simple. In order to avoid any confusion I think I’ll just take this simple and in a not so detail way.

The title of the talk was - Where is the baby? (pretty catchy eh).

It happened few months back. A 21 years old girl came into the A&E complaining of lower abdominal pain. She was weak, pale, looked dehydrated and a bit tachycardic. She was attended by the A&E houseman, after doing all the physical examinations, getting the appropriate history, she was given the diagnosis of acute pelvic inflammatory disease, and was admitted to our own gynae ward.

The Gynae HO on call saw the case, and think that the presentation didn’t really fit in with the findings and history, and decided to consult his/her MO for advice, which was then followed by a better physical examination by the O&G MO, noting striae gravidarum n etc.

Basically you know what it is about - the girl is pregnant, or was pregnant.

An examination of her perineal area found bleeding lacerations/tears, which resulted in a lot of blood loss, contributing to her current presentation.

The question comes, where is the baby?

She denied all the while saying that she is not sexually active. Case was hand over to police. Investigations later made her admit to the crime she did. She gave birth to her baby IN the A&E department’s toilet, and wrapped the baby up with old newspaper and dumped the baby in the dustbin.

That must have been 1 day after the onset of the incident. A search was started to look for the baby but he/she was not found. 2 days later 2 male cleaners found the baby in a rubbish dump near the old labour room (not far from the place I stay). On inspection, it was cord around the neck of the baby x 4.

Post mortem kinda proved that the baby was alive when born.

So, did she practically gave birth to the baby in the toilet, then strangle the baby with his/her own cord? Cord around neck 4 times during delivery is seriously rare by nature.

And for me who is currently in the O&G department, seeing people happily give birth and cherish their babies, I can’t think of any sense that someone could actually do such a thing.

This whole story is like a crime tale, and the murderer happens to be the mother herself.

And during the talk, lots and lots of slides were there. So many dump case - river, toilet bowl, road side, throw out from the car window and etc etc. Such dirty places to celebrate start of life. Such stupid idea to kill.

Can’t help but to cherish that no matter how much parents can be protective, at least they gave us home, they gave us a proper chance to live. And not like those who choose to give up because of their own convenience and problem.

It is definitely a blessing to be 26 and healthy and moving :)

This post is to tell you that both of us are healthy and happy, which can be proved by the following pictures. By the way, these were taken few days ago lah.

While you are there wearing that thick jacket, walking on the slippery roads of Volgograd during winter which hopefully this year goes under -40 degrees, we are here in Malacca eating chendol and curry laksa at jonker street. Wakaka.

Ok la, dowan to ejek you all too much. I do miss hachapuri and cutlet for like 1 second in a month. Puffffttt..

Anyway, leedwi came down to have a drink with me la.

Alcohol in Malaysia is very expensive. I so miss those bottles on top of that shelves. Hopefully the collections still go on and later when you all come back you all can throw them at those Russian hooligans who are walking on the street outside our window at night.

Next time come back only I chia ok. So… while still in Russia, be patient with the weather and everything lah. Better times will come.

Didn’t do much on Saturday. Went home and sleep and sleep and sleep.

In the afternoon took my new (second hand) car to the service center to get something fixed. A car is seriously a liability. Anyway, it protects me from the crazy cars outside. So I think it is like a must.

Later on at night went out with SheaLing (my birthday mate) for the first time. Went to EngPoh’s house to meet her baby girl for the first time as well =)

Remember, is a girl. Hahaha.

It is obvious that the new generation has more things to enjoy compared to the older generations.

My advice to this small girl would be.

Try your best to get what you want!

Even thou sometimes that thing seems to be so far away, don’t give up!

Laugh while you are at it. Enjoy the process, and when you are done..

Get back up and do it all over again.

Allow me to blog backwards. Hehe. Beware, lotsa pictures ahead.

Well. I never expect friends to know that today is my birthday. People who went on to facebook might have a hint or too but never really expected anything. Nobody said anything. Nobody hinted anything. The only one who might have said something is Joshua, who said that he is going to throw me into the pool that night.

In the morning, had lectures like usual, and we took our induksi test in the afternoon. It was supposed to be my birthday but I had 2 lectures to pay attention to, a test, a sketch at night and I was suppose to feel a melancholy because it marks the last day of the induksi (before entering BTN which is organized by another bunch of people).

They were emphasizing a lot on the result of the test.

There was some 30 MCQ and subjective questions which would give you almost 30 marks as well.

They said we should minimum answer 15 questions from the MCQ correctly and try to score high with the subjective questions.

A lot of us stayed until late at night to study.

To memorize, and look back at those slides.

Some even speculated some questions which unfortunately, didn’t came out.

And during the test, I tell you, the questions are tricky! There are multiple answers that seems to fit the situations given.

And on top of that, the fact that the facilitators emphasized a lot on passing this or else we would be called up and listed for induksi which the date would be unknown. Most probably it would be a long wait.

I tried my best to hentammmm the subjective. Passed the paper up with a heavy heart. And hopefully they would say everything is okay.

And then we had the closing ceremony for the kursus part of our induksi. The speech of the penghulu is damn hilarious. I don’t know how can he not laf when he is telling jokes. -__-”

Seriously, one of the best speaker I ever heard.

Anyway, later on we went back and prepared for the sketch that night, which will also earn us some marks to make us pass.

They came to the seaside. And we told them that it was a prank. That it was their birthday.

The Wifi had been really hard to connect to now. I thought my Mac was having problem but everybody seem to have problem connecting to the net. Sigh. Such bad service.

Anyway, I saw this sigh from my apartment’s balcony and took few pictures of it.

Nice eh? Reflection of the moonlight. But I think sometimes camera could not really capture the whole thing. Most of the time the eyes are still the best..

Girl reached 30mins earlier than expected. Since this is the first time she is traveling to another place alone, I wouldn’t want her to wait by herself. So I waited right outside the exit of the bus. Easy.

I got her home, showed her some of my stuffs while waiting and we had lunch.

It was quite stressful even to me. LOL. Because you can see pa and ma don’t know what to say or ask. LOL.

I think suddenly the food is very hard to digest. For her, not me. =)

By the way, my mum’s cooking skill suddenly drop. Instead of what I expected (the usual super tough dishes), we ended up with soup, crabs, chicken and vege. A bit lower standard then usual. I think she has also been affected by the new presence of someone.

Luckily they do not have the habit of finishing their food and sit on the table to talk. LOL. THAT would be even more stressful. Pa and ma moved to living room and watch tv after eating and we were left alone, so that the food can be swallowed easier..

Even grandma acted a bit weird, suddenly like to stare into the air and do nothing. LOL.

My bro wasn’t home. Hehe.

After that we sat for a while, and did what we do best, CABUT.

Din do much for the rest of the day but managed to show her ZenXin Organic garden and how a dragon fruit plant looks like.

The eyes of the bear look kinda weird. I don’t really like it as it looks a bit evil but what to do, commercialized stuff is like that. Somebody can tell me what flower is this? I know got orchid, but not very sure with the others.

I don’t really got any experience of giving flowers. My first time buying flowers for a female was during Teacher’s day in Russia. Well, it was for the teacher and everywhere were selling this yellow flower so it is not very hard to choose. I’m not sure whether it is better to buy a bouquet of real flowers or a fake ones.

Anyway, i took the real flowers. Kinda nice I admit. LOL! Self praise.

I gotta say that this was a successful event, organized by my ex-roommate (already ex) Leed Wi and Helmi. Of course with all the needed helps from lotsa comrades and friends. I guess everybody there that afternoon wanted it to be wonderful.

The place wasn’t really big but I guess you can have that cozy feeling that every table you turn to, there is a friend. At least a friend. Hehe.
