Zenit 3M 3rd roll
Posted by peanut on Friday Jan 15, 2010 Under photographyThe 2nd roll from Zenit 3M proves to be better than the first. The few differences compared to the 1st roll is that this time I used a black & white film in the camera. And I found a place in Melaka which actually develops black & white film. However, this time, the boss printed the pictures on color papers (without my consent), thus I’m having lotsa pictures with hues. He did promise that black & white paper is possible but will take longer, and it is going to be almost 2 times the price that I’m paying for color papers.
According to him, even color films can be printed into black & white. I’m not sure, but I’ll give that a try. Bought a roll of expired film from him, and hopefully it is going to show some good pictures.
These are some of my current favorites.
The hues actually make the pictures special. Having each individual characteristics. But I think I’ll try to transform these few pics into real black & white, just to see how it turns out to be. I personally like the grainy feeling of each pixels. Nothing is better than holding a nice pic in my hand, something that digital could never give. It is the feel of the authenticity. Sheer physics - lights, lens, film, chemicals and photo. No photoshop, no pulling of levels, no curves. Even if the picture is imperfect in term of outlines, shades, exposure and etc, but I guess this is all a part of learning, and nothing beats the next coming good photo.
I learned how to tackle the shutter speed.
Using film is not at all scary. In fact, it gives you the anticipation for the result, something which people in modern life comes to despise - the wait.

Posted by peanut on Friday Jan 8, 2010 Under photographyWakaka. Evening was even better. Compared to the rainy morning and hot afternoon, I drove up to PutraJaya to meet up with Erica since she said she can cabut for a while. Hehe. I reached Bangi at almost 7pm, thanks to the iPhone GPS, which provides the correct location.
After that, I kinda rushed to PutraJaya - to catch the sunset.
And I succeeded!
Woohoo..
Enjoy the HDR.
It was like burning red. Well, even thou the pics are nice, the real thing is 10 times better.
Her emo pic.
Later on went Alamanda (forgot how to spell) for dinner.
Nice food. Nice company.
Finished dinner at around 9 plus. Ate so long -__-” Drove around PutraJaya and spent some time on those magnificent bridges. The wind was so nice I feel a bit lazy to go lah.
Nice lightings. So much lights lah..
My significant jumping mode. Like crazy dude.
Quite surprising that the roads are empty at 11pm. Hmm. We like to take pics sitting down on the road =)
Love those pics. More in Facebook! Hopefully could go there one more time soon!
My housemates.. Erhem! Ex-housemates in Russia are eating books for their exams on 12,16,19 and 23 Jan. Psychiatric, Dermato and Pediatrics. Hopefully they can pass while at the same time, don’t do that noisy midnight discussion lah! LOL. Luckily I’m not staying with them now.. Hahahahaha!!!!
1st End Posting Day 1
Posted by peanut on Thursday Jan 7, 2010 Under photographyWoke up today with pouring rain outside. A nice day to just snuggle up and keep myself under the protection of my blanket. Anyway, how long can a HO sleeps? I had been waking up at 5-6am for almost 4 months now and suddenly, it becomes a habit to wake up early.
I woke up, thinking that I’ll make my day full with things that I wanna do.
First, went to search for spare part for my car. The fuel door could not open properly as the spring was not in place. It took me around Melaka town 3 times, 3 different shops, before getting to this really big spare part shop near Jalan Ong Kim Wee. I bought that small piece of metal for RM15.
And after that, I went to snap cemetery. Yes. CEMETERY. Just as what Dr. Karen suggested. LOL.
Those flower which is here and there around that area.
It wasn’t that bad, except that it was really eerie! Wait till you see this.
They are trying to stop the person inside from coming out, or the people outside from going in?!?! I don’t see any purpose in it, which actually means the purpose of building that is something unnatural. LOL.
By the way, this whole hill is called Bukit Cina. Really really big piece of graveyard I would say. The Hang Li Po well is at the foot of the hill. I didn’t snap anything there as the well was pretty… lack of good angles.
Anyway, this is the temple.
And later on when I was walking alone around that area, I found this really spooky house and decided to take a picture of it.
Later on, a bit hungry, decided to go back to Jonker Street for my all time favorite. But I think the shop next door serves better chendol and chicken rendang mee.
In the afternoon, went to search for photo shops that develops black & white films and 120mm medium format films. And guess what, I FOUND IT!! It is RM1.50 per pics. A bit pricey but I’m dying to see what I snapped 4 months back. So, you will be expected real black & white scanned picture from me in 4-5days!
Somewhere near Jalan Bunga Raya.
I like this kind of blend.
My new year resolution?
I don’t know. Quite empty lah.
If anything, I hope I can be richer. LOL. And other things will come after that. Haha. Next month no oncall, how to be rich -__-”
Had been analyzing why am I so miserable nowadays.
I think it is in the blood.
I hope for a cheerful year next year. And hopefully, it comes from deep inside :)
And so I wish for you, my blog readers, for a better coming year.
Raising sun from the highest spot I can get to in the hospital at 7am in the morning one 1.1.10
Of Batu Caves & Bukit Tinggi
Posted by peanut on Monday Dec 28, 2009 Under photographyIt was 2 days ago. Wanted to do something special but figured out that going to KL was my best bet.
Met up with leedwi, who suggested to go Batu Caves. LOL.
From this pic you can clearly see that the doctors spent too much time working and making him getting tired faster compared to the music teacher who teaches once a week. Grrr..
Steep stairs!
A lot of monkeys there. And they are not friendly at all!
Later on went to bukit tinggit, in a very bad bad bad weather.
Raining everywhere. Couldn’t do much.
Just hanging around trying to paparazi people.
That’s all. Back to cruel working world. Sigh. 2 more oncalls to go before this month finishes!
Another super not so productive day.
I better think of something up quick. If not these 4 days will be spent just like tat.. Shit!
Went to Miriam home to bring some food for the old folks. Well, Miriam Home is an old folks home la.
Even thou most are quite apathy towards our presence, but it is still nice to have some who is responding well to visitors.
Life is harsh.
Never forget your roots. Don’t be a fan guat zai.
The kid who was born on Christmas eve.
I would say that I don’t really know how to celebrate Christmas. Mainly because I do not celebrate it.
But spending time with friends on Christmas eve is good.
And on top of that, with lotsa alcohol =)
And lots of shouting action going on, singing lonely love songs.
The birthday boy. Anybody interested?
